So it starts...

Good afternoon and welcome to my blog!

I currently teach Grade 4 in a swelteringly hot classroom in Southern Ontario. I’m nearing the end of my 11th year of teaching and can’t imagine doing anything else with my time from September through June.

My school is a highly diverse, multicultural collage of students from K to 5. We have many of different languages spoken, religions followed and countries represented. I’ve been here for 6 years and have definitely found my home sweet home.

I’ve decided to begin this blog for two reasons: 1. To document my activities, classroom and exciting going-ons and 2. To foster my love of writing. I’m not a fictional writing (I LOVE reading though) but I enjoy writing and and sharing my ideas with people.

At home, I have two wonderful little boys and an amazing husband who listens to my stories of my crazy classroom and all the goings-on.

I believe I’ve entered into a different point of my teaching career.  I spent my early years bouncing around grade levels and schools. The next few years were trying to keep my head above water while dealing with two toddlers at home and now I’m able to focus on my teaching and teaching the way I want to teach as opposed to scrambling each day.

I have also recently applied for a position where I would be involving in learning more about our students and the way they learn compared to how I learned. Fingers crossed I get the role and that I can learn to better teach my students.

Can’t wait to share everything!
